I have always loved pictures - every medium, style and scale - they can cross cultures, tell stories and communicate ideas that escape words.I took an unusual route into illustration as a career, via an English Literature degree, Film Studies MA, and several years working in TV. My first commission came in 2007 when some of my silhouette prints were shown in a local exhibition, and from that moment I was hooked.
From my home in West London I create artwork for design and editorial clients, as well as developing a portfolio for children's books. Inks, acrylics and Photoshop are my tools of choice, and though all my pictures are finished digitally to different degrees, every one begins with pencil and paper - they just don't feel right otherwise.
A background in books and film has given me a library of stories and images for inspiration: poetry and fairy tales run through my children's portfolio, and even find their way into the wild-haired women of my editorial work. Currently I am working on turning one of my own stories into a picture book - the evidence of which I will be posting on this site soon...
